Start with the simple pleasures on this Bali food tour - crisp pisang goreng, Indonesian-style sate, and fried ote ote chicken and seaweed fritters in humble yet beloved local spots. Move on for more complex tastes - Balinese ayam betutu chicken, Javanese soto babat beef soup at a wooden shack that's been open since 1969, and tipat tahu fried tofu with rich peanut sauce among many more surprises.

Throw in a little Balinese blessing around the backstreets of old Denpasar, a shot or two of arak (local firewater), an amble through the local produce market to learn about the ingredients in Balinese cooking, and a sweet ending in a night market and you've got the makings of a fine foodie evening.
